What Is a Calendar Policy?
A calendar policy defines the standard working-week pattern for your organisation. It determines:
- Which days are business days (transactions can be processed)
- Which days are non-business days (weekends, rest days)
- How the system calculates due dates, grace periods, and interest accrual days

- Fill in the form:
| Field | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Policy Name | A descriptive name (e.g., "Standard 5-Day Week") | Yes |

| Business Days | Select the working days (Mon–Sun) | Yes |

Common Patterns
| Pattern | Business Days | Weekend |
|---|---|---|
| Standard 5-day | Monday – Friday | Saturday, Sunday |
| 6-day week | Monday – Saturday | Sunday |
| Islamic week | Sunday – Thursday | Friday, Saturday |
TIP
Calendar policies work together with holidays — a holiday overrides a business day from the calendar policy for that specific date.
How Calendar Policies Affect Operations
- EOD Processing — End-of-day runs only on business days
- Interest Accrual — Some interest models accrue only on business days
- Due Date Calculation — Loan repayment due dates can be adjusted to the next business day
- Transaction Processing — Certain transaction types are restricted to business days
