EOD Processing
The EOD (End-of-Day) Processing page manages the daily batch operations that run at the close of each business day.

What Is EOD Processing?
End-of-day processing is an automated batch job that runs daily to:
- Advance the business day — Move the system date to the next business day
- Accrue interest — Calculate and post interest on loans and deposits
- Detect arrears — Identify overdue loan repayments
- Calculate penalties — Apply penalty charges to overdue accounts
- Process standing orders — Execute scheduled transfers and mandates
- Update account statuses — Detect dormancy, maturity, and other state changes
- Post GL entries — Generate journal entries for the day's automated transactions
Business Day Management
The EOD processing page shows the current business day status:

| Current Business Day | Today's business date |
| Business Day Status | Open or closed |
| Last EOD Run | When EOD was last successfully executed |
| Next Business Day | The date that will become current after EOD |
Running EOD
- Navigate to Financial Setup → EOD Processing
- Review the current business day and pending items
- Click Run EOD Processing
- The system executes all end-of-day tasks in sequence
- On completion, the business day advances to the next date
WARNING
EOD processing should be run only once per business day, typically after all tellers have balanced their tills and all manual transactions are complete. Running EOD is irreversible — the business day cannot be rolled back.
EOD Steps
The EOD process runs these steps in order:
- Validate — Check all prerequisites (tills balanced, pending approvals resolved)
- Interest accrual — Calculate daily interest on active accounts
- Arrears detection — Flag overdue loans
- Penalty calculation — Apply penalty charges where configured
- Standing orders — Execute scheduled transactions
- GL posting — Post all automated journal entries
- Day advance — Move to the next business day
