Member Portal Walkthrough

This walkthrough takes you through the Member Portal from your first invitation to everyday use: activating your account, logging in, doing a money action with PIN confirmation, managing your security, and getting help. It follows what you actually see on the screen.

For background and a map of what the portal does, start with the Member Portal Overview.

Before you start

  • You have received an invitation from your organization by email or SMS. The message is branded with your organization's name.
  • You have the phone or email that the invitation was sent to — you will receive one-time codes there.

Step 1 — Find your organization

Open the portal link from your invitation. If you reach the portal without a direct link, the first screen asks you to find your organization (by its name or short code). Choosing it loads that organization's branding so you always know where you are.

Step 2 — Activate your account and set your PIN

  1. Open the invitation and choose Accept / Activate.
  2. The portal confirms your identity with a one-time code sent to your phone or email. Enter it.
  3. Set your transaction PIN — 4 to 8 digits. Enter it twice to confirm.
  4. That's it — your account is now active.

Your PIN protects every money action from here on. Keep it private; no one from your organization will ever ask for it.

Step 3 — Log in

  1. Enter your phone number or email.
  2. Confirm with the one-time code (and your PIN if your organization requires it at login).
  3. You land on your Home screen — a summary of your accounts.

If you belong to more than one context (for example two organizations, or you are both a borrower and an investor), use the switcher at the top of Home to move between them. Each context shows only its own accounts.

Step 4 — Look around

From Home you can open any area you have access to:

Open…To…
DepositsSee balances and transactions; start a withdrawal request
SharesSee your shareholding; start a share withdrawal request
ContributionsSee your schedule and history; make a payment
LoansSee balances and repayments; apply for a loan
GuaranteesSee requests for you to guarantee a loan
InvestmentsBrowse pools; commit funds; request a withdrawal
Transactions / StatementsReview history; download a statement
NotificationsRead messages from your organization

Just viewing never asks for your PIN.

Step 5 — Do a money action (with PIN confirmation)

Money actions all follow the same pattern. Taking a contribution payment as the example:

  1. Go to Contributions and choose Make a payment.
  2. Fill in the amount and any details the form asks for.
  3. When you confirm, a security check appears: enter the one-time code and/or your transaction PIN.
  4. If the action carries a disclosure — for example, committing to an investment shows a risk disclosure — you must read and acknowledge it as part of confirming. Investment commitments ask for this every time.
  5. The portal submits the action and shows you the result or the request's status.

The same confirm-with-PIN pattern applies to:

  • Deposit / share withdrawal requests — these create a request your organization approves; the portal then shows the status and the next step.
  • Loan applications — submitted for approval; track progress under Loans.
  • Guarantee responses — accept or decline a request to guarantee someone's loan.
  • Investment commitments and withdrawals — commitments include the risk acknowledgement each time.

You will never see who approves a request or any internal notes — only the public status and what happens next.

Step 6 — If your PIN gets locked

If you enter the wrong PIN several times, it locks for a short period and money actions are blocked until it clears. You do not have to wait — you can reset it:

  1. Go to Profile → Security → Set or reset PIN.
  2. Choose where to receive the code (email or SMS) and request it.
  3. Enter the code and choose a new 4–8 digit PIN (twice).
  4. Your new PIN works immediately and the lock is cleared.

This same screen is how you set a PIN for the first time if you normally log in with a code only.

Step 7 — Manage your security

Under Profile you can:

  • Change your phone or email — the portal verifies the new one with a code before switching.
  • See your devices — rename a device, mark one as trusted, or revoke (sign out) a device you no longer use.
  • Sign out other devices — end every session except the one you are on, in one tap. Useful if you lost a phone.

Trusted devices may ask you to log in less often, but they never skip the PIN/OTP on a money action.

Step 8 — Install the portal on your phone

When prompted, choose Add to home screen. The portal installs like an app under your organization's name and opens full-screen next time. No app store needed.

If something goes wrong

SituationWhat to do
No code arrivedCheck the phone/email on your account is correct and try again. Codes expire — request a fresh one.
PIN locked and in a hurryReset it (Step 6); a successful reset clears the lock.
Lost the phone/email on your accountContact your organization's support. They re-verify who you are (usually in person) before restoring access — there are no security questions.
An action shows "pending"It needs staff approval. The portal shows the status and the next expected step; check back or watch your notifications.
"This isn't my account" after a linkTell support. They can reject an incorrect link and set up the correct one.

Signing out

Use Sign out when you are done, especially on a shared device. Signing out ends your session and the app does not leave your financial data behind for the next person.
