Organisation Details
The Organisation Details page is the first stop when setting up your company. It contains the core settings that affect how dates are displayed, which currency is used by default, and how services are labelled.
Navigation: Administration → General Setup → Organisation Details
Company Settings
The company settings card displays and allows you to configure:
| Setting | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Timezone | The default timezone for date/time display and processing | Africa/Kampala (UTC+3) |
| Language | The display language for the interface | English |
| Base Currency | The primary currency for financial reporting | UGX (Ugandan Shilling) |
| Date Format | How dates are displayed throughout the application | DD/MM/YYYY |
| Paper Size | Default paper size for printed reports | A4 |
TIP
The base currency is set during company registration and is used as the default for all financial reporting. You can still transact in multiple currencies — see Currency for details.
Service Display Names
If your company subscribes to multiple services, you can assign custom display names to each service. This helps users identify services using familiar terminology.
For example:
- Default: "Banking & Finance" → Custom: "Core Banking Operations"
- Default: "Community Finance & HR" → Custom: "SACCO Management"
Editing Service Display Names
- Scroll to the Service Display Names card
- Each active service shows its default name with an editable text field
- Enter your preferred display name
- Click Save
The custom names appear in:
- The Service Switcher dropdown
- Service-related headers and labels throughout the application
INFO
Service display names are cosmetic only — they don't affect functionality, permissions, or data scoping.
