Production Overview
Production is the shared manufacturing capability in Pinkapple ERP. It is delivered through the Manufacturing service and exposed to users through the Production workspaces.
Production provides manufacturing context and runtime orchestration, but it should not be read as a second ledger for stock, inspections, payments, receivables, or generic documents. Those consequences still resolve through shared Inventory, Inspections, Billing, Payments, Reporting, and Document Transactions primitives.
Use it for product designs, BOMs, routings, production orders, shop-floor execution, quality handoff, dispatch, and production costing across apparel, food, plastics, roofing, automotive, assembly, and other manufacturing tenants.
Industry categories such as Apparel/Garments add terminology, templates, default items, inspection profiles, labels, report presets, and example workflows. They do not create a separate Garments service, permission profile, or runtime data model.

The practical rule is: Manufacturing is the service, Production is the runtime, and industry categories configure the runtime for the tenant's type of manufacturing.

Industry Categories
Apparel, agriculture processing, food processing, and other manufacturing types should use Production for shared runtime work. Their industry category should only add specific terminology, templates, defaults, report presets, dashboard presets, inspection plans, label formats, and examples.
For example, an apparel style, vehicle model/trim, roofing profile, furniture design, or plastics formulation should be treated as a Product Design unless it truly needs a separate industry-only extension.

Report Ownership
Shared Production reports should stay in the generic Manufacturing/Production runtime when every manufacturing tenant can use them from the same underlying records. This includes planning, shortages, supply suggestions, planning exceptions, dispatch scheduling, costing variance, WIP/output reconciliation, genealogy, and other reports driven by shared product design, BOM, routing, order, stock, execution, resource, inspection, and costing data.
Industry packs should add reports only when they depend on pack-specific dimensions or compliance logic. For example, Apparel can ship size-color matrix, marker utilization, bundle balance, or sewing-line efficiency views, while food-processing packs can ship recipe potency or shelf-life compliance views. If a report can be expressed through the shared Production records with only terminology or preset differences, keep it in shared Production and deliver the pack behavior through filters, labels, or saved presets instead of a separate runtime report family.
